(not necessarily final contours) by the middle of January.

EY said that he understood this and was expecting to be able to achieve it.

IV. Wraith Replacement.

Arising out of the comparative drawing which had been sent up, showing a Wraith replacement drawn over a standard Wraith, Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} raised one or two points which were brought forward in Cx{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager}2/KW141238.

It is correct that the radiator is further forward than on the present car. The seat has had to go up slightly in order to give the requisite visibility called for by the above point.

The distance between pedals and back edge of steering wheel has not been altered.

It should be possible for us to see the complete car when we are at Derby for the chassis conference on the 9th January.

V.{VIENNA} Wraith troubles.

Arising out of these and the discussion which had previously taken place at Derby, reference was made to EX16/G17.12.38, the main fact being that in future we must achieve 50,000 miles before we are satisfied for production.

The position in regard to the main troubles other than cylinder head, i.e. gearboxes and propeller shafts, is that these two items will be made OK on the second half of B. series.

The alteration consists of a new first motion shaft and a propeller shaft with larger joint having better lubrication capacity.

The number of cars affected is 100 in A and 100 in B.

These will have to be changed as a Safety job before 20,000 miles have been completed.

EY. will go into the question of changing as many as possible before delivery but this depends on the material position.
