Heating Test of Actuator Coils (400 x 2 turns).

Time (mins). Amps. Volts. Ohms.

0 6.20 10.80 1.74
.5 6.00 10.70 1.78
1.0 5.80 10.73 1.85
1.5 5.70 10.73 1.88
2.0 5.60 10.75 1.92
3.0 5.43 10.80 1.99
4.0 5.30 10.80 2.04
5.0 5.20 10.83 2.08

Temp. rise = (approx) 50°C, final temp.(say) 65°C
after 5 mins application of current from 12 volt battery.

If the push button switch was "on" for 3 minutes,
i.e. current reduced to 5.43 amps. maximum load lifted by
arm = 5 lb. 4 ozs. (approx).

- Effect of slowly pressing on P.B. Switch -

400 x 2 turns actuator box and main switch in
parallel across terminals of 12 volt battery.

Coils warm.
1. Lighting carbon contact, current = 5.50 amps.
Full " " " = 6.50 "
" copper & Carbon contact, " = 6.90 "

Coils cold.
2. Light carbon contact, current = 5.90 amps.
Full " " " = 6.90 "
" copper & carbon contact, " = 7.20 "
