PLEASE ADDRESS ALL COMMUNICATIONS TO THE COMPANY AND QUOTE REFERENCE OUR REF RGHT/JC YOUR REF Cgh{W Clough}/EM.17/J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} 23rd July 1940 Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd., Derby. Dear Sirs, We are in receipt of your letter of the 18th instant with reference to the possibility of our supplying 9" diameter turned bars to various specifications. The matter has been discussed by the writer with Mr. Burton and although the steel could be produced in Ingot form suitable for cogging we have not the necessary plant and tackle available for forging into approximate rounds. Since Mr. Robotham and Mr. Marriott visited our works some weeks ago, the scheme for reducing ingots under our 3000 ton press has been carefully examined in conjunction with English Steel Corporation and we regret that the proposition has had to be abandoned. Yours faithfully, R.G.H. TAYLOR. ENCLOSURE NO 387 "JUSTSO" | ||
