Phantom III Front Suspension.

As a result of the 10,000 miles test, it is considered that it is more desirable to prevent water getting in to the needle roller bearings on the bottom triangle, than to prevent oil getting out. We, therefore, wish the oil seals of the inner bearings, i.e. those on the broad end of the triangle, to be instructed to be put in to exclude water.

With regard to the outer (pivot) end of the lower triangle, there is a proposal to provide a leather cover, and if this is successful the seals should be arranged to prevent oil escaping.

Until this cover is fitted, the seals on the outer end should also be arranged to exclude water.
