Scll/E5.7.32 5th July 1932 Dear Pass, re Alpine Trials. Referring to your call yesterday I asked Derby on the telephone to telegraph to Hancock for information as to whether he was of the opinion that the 20/25 would go through the Alpine Trials successfully. We have received his reply and as the result we are not sufficiently confident that the 20/25 would put up a good enough show to make it worth running the risk of entry. I understood from you quite definitely that you were not keen unless we were very anxious that the car should participate in the Trial, and in view of the above the best course seems to be to let the matter drop. We have all, I think, learnt a good deal that will be useful and a great deal about the severity of this particular Trial which, as Hancock says, is the most severe that he has ever known both for the driver and for the car/. Yours sincerely, (Sgd) A.F.Sidgreaves A.H.Pass Esq., Of Messrs. Pass & Joyce Ltd., 373, Euston Road, N.W.1. | ||
