| - 2 - Messrs. Hooper & Co., Ltd. (2) We will supply and fit a side wheel carrier in the standard position. (3) The petrol tank has a filler which is out of standard. If possible, we would like you to modify the tank to suit the body, but if you think this is either too difficult or too costly, we shall arrange for the car to be fitted with the standard tank. (4) We note that the chassis is fitted with a large metal box in front of the third cross member. We do not want this as it will come in the way of the wells to the feet. Will you please remove the same. (5) We will arrange to fit two Electric Lucas Horns on the lamp standard corresponding with our standard equipment. We do not wish to change the lamps at the moment, as we have a pair of Marechal Head-lamps which fit these brackets. (6) We will arrange to fit a set of D.W.S. Jacks to this chassis. (7) The exhaust fish-tail will be modified and made to suit the body. COACHWORK. (1) We wish you to fit the "Alektho" ventilating windows to the front doors only - we wish to use a design in which the ventilating flap can be deflected when the window is fully up and partially opened. (2) Since we are very interested in steel wings and the prevention of their rusting, we wish to use them on this car. We shall go into this matter with you in detail separately and we hope to be able to supply you with some steel with which to make the wings. (3) STEPS: We wish to use metal steps having no wood and leave it to you to use aluminium or steel, whichever makes the better mechanical job. (4) We wish to use this car to incorporate all that we know to prevent wind noises. We enclose herewith a report of our investigation on the subject and we would like you to add to this all that you yourselves have discovered. (5) In particular do we wish the edges of the door jambs not to have a sharp edge but a radius of reasonable dimensions. | ||
