In the past, distributor shafts have been bent, due to a tight rotor being withdrawn from the spindle by means of leverage at one side.

Such a case recently occured on 4.B.50. when the distributor shaft was bent .002 inch. thereby throwing the synchronism out nearly 6 degrees and causing poor engine performance.

Will all testers in future pay special attention to this point, with a little care a tight rotor may be withdrawn without detrimental effects with the use of two levers anchored at opposite sides.
