W. - signifies Works. N. - " Cricklewood. P. - " Paris. QUARTERLY COMPLAINTS. 40/50HP. Phantom. For quarter ending 24.6.27. Nature of Complaint. | No. of Cars. | Remarks. Noisy Tappets. W. 36. Last N. 38. qtr's P. 5. total - 79. 48. This is largely due to wear which takes place between the Pins and Rollers. A further cause is the uneven spacing of the slots in the Tappets, causing the Roller to be slightly twisted on the Cam. itself. The latest practice on Production where a large quantity of oil can be got on to the Tappets is most useful, and we are endeavouring to introduce the same scheme on older cars. Servo Jaggers. W. 21. Last N. 3. qtr's P. 18. total - 42. 31. In our latest design we have standardised an improved Friction Device to the Swinging T. Link. The latest Damping Device helps to overcome the Servo Jaggers. Sticking Throttles. W. 29. Last N. 25. qtr's P. 8. total - 62. 56. The new design overcomes this trouble, and instructions have been given to fit same free of charge to all cars that go into Depots, whenever possible. Exhaust Butterfly Choke squeaking. W. 14.
