Advantage was taken of the various cars being at W. or Depots to change the old type Steering for the .940 Worm and Nut. They are not all complaints but have been included in the list, as we are now carrying out this changeover.

Noisy Magnetos & Magneto failures.

The position is the same as at last quarter. The latest Magnetos are a definite improvement.

Burning Platinum Points.
W. 6.
N. 10.
P. 16.

Last qtr's total - 20.
We are carrying out the Oil Seal and new Sleeve to prevent rapid burning of Platinum Points, but sufficient time has not elapsed to know whether this scheme is fully effective.

Engine overoiling.
W. 6.
N. 7.
P. 2.
total - 15.
Last qtr's total - 18.
This complaint is confined to the earlier models, and we expect it to die out. Fitting Brico Rings cures a large percentage. If this is not satisfactory the most effective cure is grinding the Cylinder bores, and fitting new Pistons. Overoiling seems to start easily with an oval worn Cylinder bore, and will come up after decarbonising when the carbon seal is removed.

Damaged Pipe to Hot-Spot due to distortion.
W. 2.
N. 6.
P. 1.
total - 9.
Last qtr's total - 10.
A new scheme for supplying heat to the carburetter will shortly be on experimental test. The old scheme has been completely re-designed.
