c. Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}5/MH.{M. Huckerby} 11th. March, 1940. Messrs. Wilmot-Breeden Ltd., Eastern Works, Camden Street, BIRMINGHAM, 1. For the attention of Mr.R.P.Turner. Dear Sirs, Thank you for your letter of the 9th. March. We do not think that we shall like the miniature over-riders any more than we like the angular headed beetle bolts. We feel convinced that what we shall come to is the motif in the middle which will solve the problem of any excrescences between the two over-riders, and some means of attaching the outer end of a bumper spring without a protrusion on the face of the bumper bar. This you will understand is for Rolls-Royce and Bentley cars of the present type where we cannot afford to sacrifice anything on appearance. We accept that this procedure may necessitate expensive finishing operations since nobody else does it. However, we would at least like to leave no stone unturned to get what we want at a reasonable figure. It occurs to us that the picture shown in the middle of your drawing BXP.6178/A might confine the finishing operation to the top and bottom edge of the bumper. Yours sincerely, | ||
