Continued use of faulty Maconinte high tension wire despite issues in service.

While I was at Derby I mentioned to you the fact that Cricklewood had just received approx. 4000 feet of the maconite wire which is giving trouble in service. If I remember right you dictated a letter stating that it should be returned and a supply of the Helsby wire to be sent. Cricklewood have received a memo. from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/SB.{Mr Bull/Mr Bannister}1S/HR.14.9.36. and a copy of By/Cgh.{W Clough}13/W/3.8.36. stating that the stock of Maconinte wire should be first used up. This means that for another year Service Depots will be supplying faulty wires. The position to me seems hopeless if this is the case. Will you please let me know what is being done.
