KAYE DON'S CHASSIS NO. 34-JS.{Mr Johnson's Secretary}

Will you please carry out the following work on this car :-

(1) Fit the shimmy shackle which has been removed from 19-EX.

(2) Fit Lake and Elliott cast iron drums all round. We understand there is a shortage of Lake and Elliott drums. We cannot fit anything else to Kaye Don's car, as they are the only ones which have proved satisfactory. On the other hand we wish to test the R.R. cast iron drums on 19-EX in France. We should therefore like to fit the drums off 19-EX on Kaye Don's car and fit up 19-EX with R.R. cast iron drums. The brakes may require re-lining.

(3) There appears to be a bad oil leak from the O.S.R. hub. We should like the axle to be inspected to see if it has been fitted up with the latest oil leak preventing dip devices.

(4) Half speed crankshaft period. I n order to eliminate this the slipper wheel setting should be raised from 18 to 20 lbs.

(5) Cylinder head should be removed and valves ground in.

(6) The clutch is slipping badly. This should be dismantled for inspection.

(7) This car is suffering from radiator jellying. We have a standard method of overcoming this trouble by fitting soft rubbers to the radiator mounting and increasing the clearance under the corners of the radiator. Les.{Ivan A. Leslie} has been dealing with this in Paris, and will supply the necessary details.

(8) Servo jaggers. The servo is jaggering slightly, please examine the star plate to see if this is broken.

(9) Will you please fit a new diaphragm to the Klaxon horn.

Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson}
