REPAIRS

Art. 44. - Competitors are forbidden to store a stock of spare parts or tools in their pit subject to a fine of a Frs 1.000 and the temporary forfeiture of said parts and tools till the completion of the race. It is also forbidden for a driver relieving his fellow-driver and for the attendant helping the drivers, to remove from the pit, by any means whatsoever, tools or spare parts under penalty of immediate withdrawal of the car from the race.

If a driver stops in front of his pit to carry out a repair he must effect said repair solely with the means carried on board with the co-operation of the two drivers or of one driver and the pit assistant, but they are forbidden to lay tools or spare parts on the shelf of the pit.

Any infraction would entail disqualification of the car.

EXHAUST CUT-OUT

Art. 45. - Competitors whose cars are fitted with an exhaust cut-out which did not comply or has ceased to comply with the requirements of article 27 and who use this device notwithstanding will be fined Frs 100 for the first offence duly established; for the second and third offence the rate of the fine would be raised to Frs 500.

A fourth offence would entail disqualification of the car.

LIGHTING OF VEHICLES

Art. 46. - Between Saturday 17th. June at 9.30 p.m. and Sunday 18th. June at 4.30 a.m. the vehicles must carry lights.

The drivers of cars whose lighting system is not working from 9.30 p.m. on are under the obligation of stopping in order to put their lighting right. In the event of failure these cars will be immobilised until 4.30 a.m., the idle time counting in the 24 hours of the race.

A double green and yellow signal (flags or lamps) placed on a level with the timing line will indicate the time for the lighting of the headlamps and for turning them off.

CAR NUMBERS

Art. 47. - It is incumbent on drivers to make sure their numbers remain visible throughout the race.

STOPPING OF DRIVERS BY THE STEWARDS

Art. 48. - The race Stewards shall cause the stopping of cars whose drivers have committed a breach of the regulations by notifying their decision to the competitor or his representative who is alone commissioned to stop the offending driver.

For this purpose, at time of weighing-in and checking, the competitor must nominate beforehand one or two persons commissioned to represent him so that one at least may be present at the pit.

If the first warning is not obeyed a fine of Frs 250 will be imposed; for a second infraction there will be a second fine of Frs 500 and if there is a third infraction the competitor will be withdrawn from the race.
