Bearings again examined and measured with the following results :- Floating fit bush. Bearing and trunnion .0015 .0014* Press fit bush. " " " .0016 .0016 The Press fit bearing had a small piece of whitemetal broken away from one edge of the bore. 3rd. test. | | Load - lbs. | | Time run | Total time. | Temperatures. | | Oil | | R.P.M. | Press fit brg. | Floating fit brg. | hrs.mins. | hrs.mins. | Press fit. | Floating fit. | press. | |-----------|------------------|-------------------|-------------|-------------|---------------|---------------|----------| | 1200 | 1985 | 1985 | 1 | 1 | 103°C | 87°C | 15 lbs. | | 1980 | 1985 | 1985 | 1 | 2 | 122°C | 100°C | 15 " | | 3700 | 1985 | 1985 | 2 20 | 4 20 | 170°C | 134°C | 20 " | Press fit bearing seized up completely. Floating fit - clearances. Between bearing and trunnion .0016 .0016 Total time bearings had run - 25 hrs. 32 mins. The floating bearing does not appear to have rotated very much and the amount of wear is very small. The clearance between bearing and shaft has increased 3/10ths. and the clearance between trunnion and shaft has increased 4/10ths. HIC. | ||
