Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}/Hy{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer}9/114014. Sheet 2. After running on 4th gear 20 m.p.h. full throttle for 3 minutes 34 seconds the pedal was down on floorboard due to brake drum expansion. Energy absorbed 96 HP minutes. Test 2. Same brakes as test 1. After running on 3rd gear 20 m.p.h. full throttle for 55 seconds the pedal was down on floorboard due to brake drum expansion. Energy absorbed 36 HP minutes. Test 3. Standard 14" plain brake drums. Ferodo liners. standard leverage. After running on 4th gear, 20 m.p.h. full throttle for 2 minutes 42 seconds the pedal was down on the floorboards due to brake drum expansion. Energy absorbed 73 HP minutes. Test 4. Same brakes as test 3. After running on 3rd gear 20 m.p.h. full throttle for 32 seconds the pedal was down on the floorboard due to brake drum expansion. Energy absorbed 21 HP minutes. All these four tests were repeated with a small | ||
