Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}/Hy{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer}9/L14814. Sheet. 3 jet of water running on to each brake drum, and with all four arrangements the test was satisfactory each one running for 15 minutes without failure. This proves that the expansion and heat are the only things which prevent this brake from being excellent. The Ferodo is behaving splendidly so far under this very severe usage and has only worn down about 1/4" of pedal movement. We will be able to say more about the condition of the Ferodo later when it has been uncovered for examination. after further tests. When very hot there is a slight expansion of the brake straps but not sufficient to do any harm or to take a permanent set. Tests 1, 2, 3 & 4 are being repeated but with the reduced leverage. | ||
