Hotel de France. Chateauroux. Indre. To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} From G.W.H. 16.8.33. I. D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} IV. The car has resumed its mileage to-day and so far it is running very well. We have entirely overcome our shortage of petrol. A speed of 98 M.P.H. was obtained this morning. The weather has cooled off considerably, so for the present we shall not have the extreme conditions as previous. We however, as stated previously had the extreme conditions before fitting the latest axle tubes, with no sign of trouble. We have not been able to obtain as yet the selectiviness of the steering with the spring loaded side steering tube. Having had the real selective steering, we don't apreciate the change. We have strengthened the springs up making their working length 1.850. We shall try compressing them more. The arrangement of the spring guide will not allow us to compress more than 1.755, so by Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}'s memo we cannot over stress the springs. Our daily reports will follow as usual. G H Hancock G.W.H. | ||
