MR. CUNNINGHAM.

There is no doubt that any Bentley prior to 'E' series will be a bad starter.

I ran the car I took to the States on Mobiloil Arctic Oil, but it was quite impossible to start it even then, when the temperature was 10° or more below freezing point.

To make the car the best we know of for American conditions it would be necessary to fit the geared starter motor. This cannot be fitted without changing the clutch pit. If Mr. Cunningham would pay the cost of the changeover we should recommend that this is carried out.

Naturally there will be greater difficulty in starting a car with the 8:1 compression than with the normal compression ratio.
