306 HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM{Anthony F. Martindale}5/R.14.4.37. P.III BRAKES. We want to fit up a P.III with the rear bell crank levers on the carrier plates having a chromium-steel instead of oilite-steel bearing. The sleeve G.83901 should be ground .006 smaller in diameter than at present detailed, chromium plated to a thickness of at least .005", and ground to the standard dimensions. Bushes exactly similar to G.84499 should be made from mild steel, to run against the chromium. No keys or keyways are needed. The leather washer protection scheme N.Sch.4778 should be incorporated. The bearing should be assembled oily, but it will have no oil feed. It should be fitted to 37-EX. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale} | ||
