Title. Sec. L.O.P.
4. (N) Bonnet Covering Dash......Contd.
Necessity of obtaining agreement of English Coachbuilders was mentioned. Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} has stated they would generally favour some such scheme.
This is a new item and has not been previously agreed to. It refers to the Bonnet matching up to and being square with the cowl without showing the ridge of the top of the dashboard as at present.
The suggestion means that the bonnet is to rest on the top and slightly extend beyond the top of the dashboard towards the cowl.
Cy. recommended our finishing bonnets to a standard projection of 3/16" all the way round at the cowl end, and he would take care that the cowl is made square with our bonnet.
He suggests such a scheme should be incorporated into the second experimental chassis, and this was agreed to in the hope that it would be available for both cars, but it was understood that such a scheme may not be possible for introduction into the first 200 chassis.
5. (N) Wire Brush Finish.
5. Was agreed as desirable for cellulose finish. Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} was handed sample so finished, and will determine methods of reproducing it.
Cy. also mentioned Interchangeability.
It was agreed to supply America with a Gauge representing the actual curvature of the top of Bonnet in the plane of the rear face of dash. This is for use in finishing scuttles.
Support of side Hinge at front and rear.
Not agreed, but referred for further discussion with Ds. and Ey.
