R.R. 235B (100 T) (S.H. 798. 10-12-20) G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 2948 TO EFC. FROM R.{Sir Henry Royce} ORIGINAL RECEIVED DEC 15 1922 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X. 4010 RR. 40/50 DYNAMO. I have looked over the calculations you have made for RR. 40/50 dynamo, to designs we sent you. All seems O.K. but you seem to have made a mistake in thinking the yoke too small in error. There is some clerical error in your memo. when you demand so many A.T. for the yoke. We have general-ly limited the flux by the resistance of the air gap and the teeth, keeping the yoke, magnets, and armature core (below the teeth) low enough to require very little H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} I think you will find you do not want a heavier yoke when you have corr-ected the error of the H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} My impression is use the larg-est wire possible on armature and smallest gauge possible on Field, keeping the shunt current low. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
