TO BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} FROM DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} C. to Cd. C. to WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} C. to HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} ORIGINAL DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}1/M15.12.22. "STORK" & "HERON" FOUR WHEEL BRAKES. X4550 We send you herewith N.scheme 1363 shewing the temporary bracket for bottom front shock absorber ball to enable you to fit the shock absorber to an existing forging as taken from N.scheme 1317. We think you may have such a forging before you received N.scheme 1326, and therefore would require some adaptation of the ball end. We are not quite certain what has actually happened, that is to say, whether you got a forging before you got N.scheme 1326, or if so whether you drilled it, and therefore we have shewn on N.scheme 1363 the radius rod ball end in the position of N.scheme 1317, and leave it to you to put it in the exact position of existing pieces. We also shew on this scheme the enlarged top ball end which is applicable to all "Stork" and "Heron" cars, and the slightly different setting in the shock absorber lever which we now require.
