| (2) car is a fast one, and requires a large amount of friction damping. I had suggested strangely enough both the use of double dampers specially arranged so as to damp torsional vibrations of the axle. (6) I do not like to attempt to use aluminium for drums as it is such unreliable metal when subjected to unknown stresses. (7) I see no reason at present to be disappointed with the scheme we have adopted. (8) It will have to be understood that we cannot expect the same ease and perfection of steering, and the same supple springing with front brakes, as we can without front brakes.
