In this event it is possible for one lever to be on the stop and the other will then be twice its normal distance off the stop. This would give rise to error in checking the movements at the end of operating levers so to overcome this both levers on axle must be moved together when checking clearances.

The front brake clearances should be frequently checked as it is a simple matter to test the movement of the pull levers.

The freeness of operation should be tested with the pull ropes disconnected by means of a spring balance attached as shewn in adjustment drawing. Stiffness may occur in the ball joints of the pull ropes if they are incorrectly adjusted, also the jaws on the pull ropes may be tight either at the axle end or the equaliser end. This is dangerous because it may cause the brakes to stick on.

SERVO.
_______

Once the servo has been correctly set up and adjusted, it should not require any attention for a long period.

The pedal movement indicating a correctly adjusted servo is .2" measured at the top edge of the pedal towards the dash. This .2" movement should be taken up by light pressure of the hand. It must be understood that this pedal movement is entirely due to the servo and not the rear brake clearances (see adjustment sheet).

If adjustment is necessary, it is done by means of the nut at the end of the servo shaft. This nut is held locked
