To RHC. {R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} from Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /ACL. X8230 Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /ACL/LGS. 2. 26. X8230 SUPERHEAT HOT SPOT FOR 44-PK. The attached sketch shews arrangement of superheat hot spot. It is very similar to the one used on the test bench engine with the exception that the boiler is fitted to the rear exhaust down pipe. No exhaust butterfly throttle is used with this system. All copper pipes are ordinary 3/8" outside diameter. The double ended union with the small hole is used as a means of regulating the water flow, and can easily be adjusted if found necessary. It will be found necessary to fit the boiler as high as possible on the exhaust pipe in order that it shall avoid the engine bearer at the lower end. When these parts are ready we should be pleased if you would have them fitted to car 44-PK. Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /ACL. | ||
