remove the rear brakes from the speed car. He also asked that we should have wooden wheels with aluminum discs instead of wire wheels. The Committee suggested that no action should be taken until some explanation was received from Mr Platford as to the purpose of these parts. They do not consider it desirable to make any speed records with any chassis except our standard one unless the chassis is specially designed and built for speed purposes only.

It was agreed that instructions should be issued for a set of wooden wheels fitted with aluminium discs.

Re Speed Cars for Trial. Mr Platford informed the Committee that Mr Johnson thought more could be done with regard to the speed car trials, and asked that suggestions might be made towards making the car more efficient for this purpose.

The Committee wish to place upon record the fact that our policy had hitherto been to make records which were useful as regards proving that our car was all that could be desired for luxurious touring purposes, and that if we depart from this
