Regarding the additional breather on the oil filler as per 25/30 on the above car, this was fitted at Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}'s request and is an experiment for comparative cylinder bore wear.

The breather pipe into the air silencer to be left as existing.

Regarding the water pump rotor, the front flat face of the blades should be located by the bush, which according to drawing should stand .025" proud of the casing in order that the blades be clear of the case. If, as you say, the bush is recessed below the case then it cannot have worn to this position.

This means that either the bush was too short in the first place or that when you dismantled the pump the bush got pushed back. If you have the opportunity you might check this over and see if the bush is 'home'.

This is made of soft bearing material and may be tapped by a piece of wood shaped to the curvature.
