Bentley V Front Shock Dampers.

It has been found that the replenishing valve seats on the pistons are generally distorted somewhat after assembly. It is, therefore, necessary to check these seatings on all production front dampers, and they should be lapped in.

Lapping reduces the leak considerably and it will be found necessary to use a groove .100"-wide and .015"-deep, of rectangular section to obtain the desired leak.
