We give below the complete chassis weight of the above as received on test 3.1.39. Chassis complete with the following - 5 j x 16 steel bolt on type wheels, temporary dashboard, bonnet, wing stays and fittings, front apron, undershields, front bumper, floorboards, lamps, tools, starting handle, horns, Tespak, petrol filler, 18 galls of petrol and battery - 3,035 lbs. Total - 27 cwts. 1 qr. 3 lbs. For comparison purposes the standard production complete weight of Wraith in exact detail is 28 cwts. 1 qr. 0 lbs. A point of note is that the 7 x 16 steel bolt on wheels with press on cap are 3 ½ lbs. per set lighter than the 6.50 x 17 wire wheels with knock on hub caps or the exact weight of the cap per wheel. Rear bumper would be 28 lbs. extra. The dashboard on 30.G.J. is not the correct one. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/PD. | ||
