Dear Dick,

Thank you for your letter of October 8th.

I am going to be at the Show on Wednesday Oct. 21st, so that I shall miss you. This is perhaps as well if you are looking for an independently sprung Bentley on the Stand !

Our main display - as you are pleased to term it - will be a small model of the Ulster Bentley. Otherwise identical with the car you have. Please do not imagine from this that we have given up all further thoughts of improving the breed; on the contrary, never before have we had so many interesting experiments in hand.

In the meantime I suggest that if you feel old age getting the better of you, you should invest in a Phantom III. You will find the back seat ride definitely better than that of the Hillman-Minx.

I am very glad you got back from the Continent without mechanical failure, but I expect that with your usual consideration for our products you nursed the car carefully the whole time !

Do come and see us at Derby soon, either before the end of the month or after February, as we are closing the house for a short time during alterations.

Kind regards,

Yours sincerely,
