Bentley - Front Brakes - Inertia Balancer.

Herewith is N.Sch.4846, arrangement of the front brake inertia balancer, to eliminate high speed judders, and made suitable for application to existing cars.

Prints of the balance lever and the actuating lever have been handed to Experimental for advance production of hand forgings, also of the distance piece for the advance production of a pattern. The remaining details can be made from bar.

The actuating lever is the same as standard as regard the actual operation of the brakes, but has been slightly strengthened to allow for any additional loads which may be imposed by the balancer.

The loads produced by the balancer can only be estimated, but the parts are adequate for any probable load. It is suggested that the balance weight be made with additional metal to enable Experimental to determine the best compromise. Whether thumps can also be eliminated by additional weight, it is understood is now being investigated.

Would BY please issue the details as quickly as possible as it is intended to get this apparatus on 6-B-4.

N.Sch.4846 herewith.
