X.1357. Extract from Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}3/M5.12.22. X.4219. (2) IMPROVED INSTRUMENT BOARD LAMPS. X.1357. The Culver-Stearns instrument board light produced by Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} and at present on the Northey Trials I believe, is not liked solely on account of its American origin. The present lamp used is a polished C.A.V., having on it a switch which is unnecessary. So far we know of nothing better, but Lucas' have promised to make us a lamp. In the meantime it is understood that the C.A.V. lamp shall be blacked, and will have in the case of the Goshawk, single pole contact.
