X.3424. To C.O. from BY/HBO. c. to EFC. c. to Mr.Hives. BY/HBO1/DW2.6.19. X.1362 - INSTRUMENT BOARD X.1162 Re Weston Ammeters Model 301. Herewith sample ammeter No.23309 scale 30-0-30 You will notice that the markinh is quite bold, also that they have charge and discharge on scale plate. I send along with the above one of the eight instruments supplied No.88474. This scale plate has not got the charge and discharge on, and the marking is not up to their sample. I stated in my previous memo dealing with the Weston Ammeters that the sample they supplied had a black rim as well as the black scale plate - I now find that I have been confusing the instrument taken off the Packard car the same model viz.301, which had the black finish. This of course is the finish we require. Mr. Bailey suggests that we should send to Messrs Lucas a number of these instruments which have got the silver face to be blacked in keeping with other work they are doing for use. This is simply to help the Weston people for the first few sets, they will of course bring in the old black finish as soon as possible. Although we do not like the scale plate No.88474 we shall have to take them for the first few cars unless they can supply at once to their sample 23309, but with marking 20-0-20. You might send these two instruments to Messrs Weston asking them to return No.88474 after they have compared the two. I trust I have made the position quite clear, if not will you kindly see me,s BY/HBO. | ||
