COPY. September 24th. 1913. Axle Pivots for 10 HP Cars. x714 Reply to R2/P20913. With regard to the track of the 10 HP Cars, I have found several different tracks on the early patterns differing by several inches, both on front and rear wheels, and in some cases the front and rear wheel tracks were not alike. The old arrangement drawings show 48¼" but the figures on the tracings appear to have been scratched out and altered several times. I therefore suggest that it would be best to leave the brazing of the jaws on to the axle tubes till we get hold of the cars, so that they can be made to suit. Some of the old axle tubes are 1¼ dia., others are 1โ . I suggest that the 1โ tubes should be replaced by 1¼, as the smaller tubes have bent on several occasions. (sgd) H.R.Chandler. | ||
