1166 ? Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Bry.5/MH.{M. Huckerby} 10th. June 1938. C.W.Nichols, Esq., Messrs.S.Smith & Sons Ltd., Cricklewood Works, LONDON, N.W.2. Dear Mr.Nichols, We have heard that one of our Phantom III customers, Sir John Leigh, who had the misfortune to have a puncture at midnight the other night was mortified to find the jack in question, first, would not raise the car high enough, and secondly, would not return, being subsequently wiped off by the road. We are not sure which of two alternative apologies to make. Either to ask you to see Sir John Leigh and promise it will never happen again, or for us to write him a short panegyric on the lightness and reliability of the portable mechanical jack. Will you let us know which you prefer. Yours sincerely, | ||
