<s>BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer}</s> FROM DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} SECRET DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}3/M29.1.29. Copy to <s>BJ.</s> HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} SS.{S. Smith} REAR SPRING FRONT ANCHORAGE. x7410 Herewith we send N. scheme 2813. shewing the aluminium die castings enlarged to enable the gaiter to be carried beyond the second leaf, as was recently done on the front springs. The successful experiment on the front springs would be adapted to the rear. Nothing is altered except the die castings. We notice on the Derby drawing that though the front springs have a short stiff end to the second plate on the rear springs a taper similar to that on the other plates is obtained. Does this occur in fact, and if so what is the explanation of the difference? DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
