X 3468 RE. FAULTY FRONT ENGINE GUARDS.

With reference to my complaint some time ago that trouble was experienced with these guards breaking, I still find I have to replace quite a number on test owing to breakage taking place.

I have already demonstrated to Mr. Stott the general weakness, and shall be pleased to show him any further ones, as there are generally one or two on test which are being replaced.

I am anxious to make it quite clear to you that although cars may leave here satisfactory in this respect, I have no confidence that they will remain so.

It would appear that more flexibility is required in this front engine guard, or it must be supported differently so as to allow more independence between the front part of the engine and the frame.
