SPARE PARTS AND TOOLS

Art. 6. - Vehicles may carry on board, but only at the start of the race, all spare parts and tools competitors consider necessary.

All re-provisioning in spare parts or tools from anywhere or from anyone is strictly prohibited after the start.

REPAIRS

Art. 7. - All repairs which might become necessary shall be carried out exclusively with the spare parts and tools taken on board at the start of the race, subject to the exceptions provided for in article 43.

REFILLING

Art. 8. - The refilling with fuel, oil and cooling liquid shall be carried out simultaneously. - It will be exclusively restricted to the pits and such refilling may only be made at minimum intervals of twenty-four laps between two refillings. Failure to comply with this provision would involve exclusion from the race. There shall be on board no cooling liquid, fuel or lubricant other than that in the tanks provided for the purpose which shall be regularly sealed. No reserve may be carried.

Competitors desiring to use the same fuels on their trials as on the date of the race can obtain them during the period of official trials preceding the race. This fuel must be paid for, at once, in specie.

The conditions of distribution of fuel will be communicated to competitors by the A.C.O. which will mail them all necessary information on this subject by registered post.

Art. 8-A.{Mr Adams} - The fuel will be placed at the disposal of the competitors on the terms stipulated hereinbelow.

Art. 8-B. - Each competitor must supply the following information to the A.C.O. before the 20th. May 1939 at 6 p.m. :

a) the kind of fuel chosen.
b) the total quantity of fuel he will require during the I6th. Reliability Grand Prix.
c) the capacity of the fuel tank of each car entered by him.

Should this information not have reached the A.C.O. on the above mentioned date i.e. the 20th. May, the competitor will be fined Fcs 500.

On the other hand, if after having indicated one fuel, the competitor should notify his desire to change it, this request may be disallowed, but if it is accepted the competitor will be fined Fcs. 500.

Finally, if the above information has not reached the A.C.O. on the 1st. June 1939 the entry will be cancelled. The competitor will be entitled to the refund of the entrance fee paid, subject to the deduction of the sum of Fcs. I.250.

Payment for the fuel must be made exclusively in cash, at latest at the Halle aux Toiles when the vehicles are being checked, failing which fuel would not be supplied at the pit and as the competitor could not start he would forfeit his entry fee.
