| -2- SUBJECT. REMARKS. (4) HAND BRAKE. Stated on agenda that hand brake, pawl, bush, were stiffened on 28.2.38 in order to prevent bush collapsing. The modified pawl, however, fouled the brake rack and a further alteration was necessary to overcome this. An alteration was issued on 25.4.38, and the job was therefore cleared on this date, and not 28.2.38 as stated. Original statement that six weeks elapsed before job was cleared is thus correct. (5) REAR ROAD SPRINGS. Incorrect date was given by error on RHC {R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} 's statement in this case. (28.1.38 should have been 28.11.37). (6) GEARBOX SERVO DAMPER BOSSES. Modified position of bosses on gearbox was requested in Feb. 1938 so that starter motor bolt could be removed without disturbing servo damper. Stated in By's. agenda that alteration was not incorporated because no pattern alterations were required. Since that date however, two pattern alterations have taken place, and the damper boss alteration could have been incorporated along with one of these. At present it is necessary to remove servo damper spring in order to insert long starter motor securing bolt in clutch case. (7) | ||
