Testing of spring F.75148 and recommending the use of aluminium washers to adjust for variations in shock absorbers.

With reference to BY/HEB{H. Biraben}7/M31.1.27. We have tested spring F.75148 and find that it gives 105 to 110 lbs. at the end of the 7¾" lever, or about 62½ lbs. at the end of a 13" lever. We would like to reiterate that we, at any rate in the Expl: Dept: find that springs vary in different shock absorbers due to unavoidable variations in machining to the extent of 20 lbs. It is for this reason that we recommended aluminium washers in the high pressure cap to adjust the spring load.
