- 4 - BYS/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 21.11.24. 15. Frames. --------- "V" Series. The main frame is precisely the same as "T" Series except that the front cross member will have to be of the new conversion type suitable for the new radiator for "V" Series. "W" Series. The rear end of the side member with the position of the joggle relative to the dashboard will be like EAC.II; from the dashboard forward it will be like the standard 40/50. The width across the frames built up is the same as the standard 40/50. The front cross member is the new type double diagonally stayed. 16. Rear Axle. ----------- "V" and "W" Series. The present type axle etc. with the exception that the bevel gears will be as follows:- Normal ratio............. 16/52. For heavy cars........... 15/52. For sports cars.......... 17/52. Not of increased track. 17. Front Axle. ------------ "V" and "W" Series. The present type EAC.III axle will be used for both chassis owing to the fact that we have not time to get material in and carry out the rest of the experimental work on the parallel control. EAC.II type. The rear end of the front spring is anchored by means of the EAC.III anchor bracket. The front axle forgings have bosses etc. suitable for parallel control. This will not be removed until the axle is ready to be erected, for "W" Series. "V" Series will in any case be precisely the same as at present. 18. Brake Operation. ---------------- This will be precisely similar in design to EAC.III, that is, both brake ropes will be carried down on the offside of the engine.
