BYFLEET 223. GRASMERE, BYFLEET, SURREY. 2. were fitted and the leverage on the front brakes increased. This effected a slight improvement though the braking was still not good. During the first week in January last the car went to Cricklewood, as your Mr Abbott Anderson considered the faulty brakes due to maladjustment of servo. The total mileage at this time was between fifteen and a half and sixteen thousand. The car was returned with a negligible improvement in the brakeing system. I was assured that this would improve greatly in the course of five hundred miles or so when the servo discs had bedded down. I have, however, been unable to trace any such improvement. I should like to mention that I am well aware of the reason why the brakes on the Phantom II are mediocre, also in my particular case why the front brakes do no work. The difficulty is to get the manufacturers to carry out the work necessary to rectify this. Here I would like to draw your attention to page 1095 of the Autocar published on 14th Dec 1934. | ||
