To Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} from HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} Handwritten notes: Noted, R Wyman (signature), Gen (signature), 1153 HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr}4/VS.{J. Vickers}11.7.41. New Senior Range Gearbox. Six sets of these gears are now up to the grinding stage and are past the stage when they can be lapped together. I discussed with Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}, prior to his visit to Glasgow this week-end, the question of making arrangements for Maag grinding at Glasgow, and when he returns on Saturday I shall probably have some information. In the meantime I have taken the matter up with Mr.Hampson regarding the grinding of one complete set, but he has turned this down. We therefore rely on a decision from Glasgow. ------------------- HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} (signature) | ||
