By 18 JAN 27 RECEIVED S/W By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} C3/C17.1.27. Re Steel Artillery Wheels. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} and I have discussed your memos. By11/H30.12.26, By1/H10.1.27 and By7/H14.1.27. Will you kindly note that BJ., Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} and myself agree that you may order 25 sets of steel artillery wheels for the 40/50 h.p. and for the 20 h.p. provided these wheels have been put through the Bumping Tests referred to in your By2/H1.11.26, and two days road tests over bad roads. This decision was given to you as long ago as the 10th November last, in Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}5/M10.11.26, BJ. having agreed at that time to your recommendations. Such being the case, we cannot understand why the matter has again been raised, unless it is that you are now suggesting that these should be ordered without the Bumping Test, but neither of your memos. referred to above mention this.
