[Stamp: RECEIVED XII 1932] Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. X6110- BY/RD2/W.31-10-32. WAXED PAPERS: It is interesting to note that a wide variation exists between our tests and those applied by Symons, and we give below figures quoted which would indicate that there is quite a considerable difference in the two tests :- Brittain's U.14 Plain Paper, waxed by Symons :- Breakdown voltage 590 volts per mil.(R.R.) Breakdown voltage 1400 volts per mil.(Symons) Brittain's 321521 Paper, waxed by Symons :- Breakdown voltage 1500 volts per mil.(R.R.) Breakdown voltage 2000 volts per mil.(Symons) You do not state at what temperature our tests are taken, but Symons figures were at a temperature of 20°C. BY/RD. | ||
