COPY. To C. from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Ltd. c. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Ltd.3/KT.7.9.33. D.W.S. JACKS & 20/25 HP. CARS. Further to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Ltd.10/KT.21.7.33. and C19/C.28.7.33. Messrs Donald Sessions have quoted us a price for the lightened type of jacks suitable for the 20/25 HP. car which we are testing out. The figures are :- (a) In the event of standardisation - 77/6d. per set. (b) If we supply them only when specified by client. - 6 Guineas per set Thus in the event of standardisation by subtracting the cost of the present jack (19/6d), the chassis cost would be increased by 58/-. If it is decided to fit them as a standardised extra, they would of course be fitted at our works. At present, we understand Sessions are fitting five or six sets per week to new 20/25 HP. cars at coachbuilders at a cost of £10.10.0 plus £1.0.0. fitting charge. We are still testing out the sample set of this new lightened type jack and it continues to give satisfaction; we have a few further tests to complete before finally pronouncing them satisfactory.
