BY: Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} SFF. for Mr. Ellis. X4228 EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}2/H12.10.23. 20-HP Chassis. Faulty Carburetter Petrol Filter. We are continually having trouble with fluff and foreign matter getting into the carburetter jets, which we have been able to cure effectively by thoroughly cleaning out the petrol system. We still find, however, this is taking place which in the hands of the customer, and do not feel that the filter fixed into the float chamber is sufficiently effective. Similar fluff, is, we find, in the jets and has also been found on the filter. It does not appear that the fluff passes through the gauze itself but through the space where the end of the filter spigots into the float chamber case. According to the drawings, there may be a clearance here of .007" and we feel that this limit should be very much reduced. Possibly you may consider the slow taper fitting being arranged at this point. EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} | ||
