These four condensers would therefore pass our electrical tests. The remaining condensers Nos. 1, 2, 4, 5, 7,10 and 11 were broken down by this 400 volt treatment, and would, therefore, not pass the electrical test. The condensers are certainly not electrically as well made as ours as they emit noises during the switching on and off processes and they may be heard to hum in varying degrees during the application of the 350 or 400 volts, showing a certain looseness in the assembly of the plates.
