X.2512. CHASSIS CONDENSERS.

I am attaching herewith copy of letter received from the Salford Electrical Instruments. Ltd. dated the 21st inst, reference HCT/EAC.

You will notice from the letter in question that Mr.Turner of the above Company takes strong exception to our flashing the condenser on a 400 volt alternating potential, and states that he can break down any condenser whatever by imposing such a test.

Since Mr.Turner is coming down on Tuesday, I would suggest that we have a number of our own condensers which we are putting through the test in question, in order to satisfy him that condensers produced to our specification will stand up under the conditions specified.

Apparently what Mr.Turner takes exception to is the flashing on and off rapidly of a 400 AC. current on to the Condenser.

Will you kindly arrange to get any information we require together by tomorrow morning, as we wish to take up the one issue with Mr.Turner in view of the fact of non-delivery of condensers.

BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Ry
