Bailey - Chief Engineer} /EM1/E.11.7.28. We were unaware that two grades of "Kleenwell" were being used in these works. We have, however, obtained a sample of the material being used by Mr. Smith (designated in your note Grade 2), and find that it contains no cyanide whatever, being caustic soda only. Since Mr. Smith reports to us that this material cleanses radiators in a very satisfactory manner, we think this supports our contention that caustic soda is all that is needed for this particular job, since the cyanide contained in the other grade would largely be lost at running temperature. While on this subject, we would point out that "Kleenwell No.2." has been purchased by R.R. at 1/1d per lb. while caustic soda has been purchased from the same firm at 2 1/4d. per lb. H1. HE | ||
